"Our message is to lift up Jesus and point all to Him. We know that God has given us an opportunity to speak life to our generation. We do love to play our music, but He is the reason we do this." Drue Bachmann, lead vocals/bassist for MFS

My Friend Stephanie is a pop/alternative band based out of Greenville, SC. Musically, My Friend Stephanie has been described by using a variety of terms: College Music, Progressive rock, Power pop, etc. Whatever you call it, its current…hip…now! It's the music that teens, college students, and young adults are living their lives by in the 90's.

My Friend Stephanie's lyrics explore the Human Condition; acknowledging that pain and suffering exist, but offering hope through man's search to be reconciled to his Creator. The bands' tunes are original compositions born out of life experiences.

Listening to the music of My Friend Stephanie is a lot like making a new Friend: You just know deep down in your gut that this meeting is going to become so much more than a mere passing acquaintance. "To me, it's a big thing when somebody hears a My Friend Stephanie song, "says the band's singer, songwriter, and bassist Drue Bachmann proudly, "and two hours later they find themselves humming the hook over and over again, and they can't get it out of their head." With it's second release "All The Pieces" their latest release, it did not take long for My Friend Stephanie to start making these kinds of lasting impressions and devoted friendships.

Newcomers to My Friend Stephanie's sound are greeted immediately by the embracing melodies of this talented five-piece rock and roll band. "To me," explains Bachmann, "the melody is the strength and foundation of the song, and everything just kind of follows behind it."

My Friend Stephanie realized the importance of spiritual accountability. Our message is to lift up Jesus and point all to Him. We know that God has given us an oportunity to speak life to our generation. We do love to play our music, but He is the reason we do it.

My Friend Stephanie performs songs that speak of life's harsh realities from a Christian worldview; a perspective that recognizes our need for the Savior, and thoroughly explores His involvement in the lives of people.

While My Friend Stephanie may hold the art of creating memorable melodies in high regard, it also knows how to turn up the volume and make uncompromising rock and roll. It creates "pop melodies," states Bachmann, which are "real hooky, but the guitar is just kinda cranked up pretty loud."

Deep within these loud and melodic power pop songs one can hear Bachmann singing lyrics which deal honestly with his personal experiences. "If I'm on cloud nine," he says, "then I'll write about being on cloud nine. If I feel like I'm eating dirt because I just went through a busted relationship or something, then that's what I write about. So, there are a lot of peaks and valleys in my lyrics. But I feel like I owe it to the people listening to our music to be honest."
